London 3x3 and Powerleague have joined forces to launch 3PT – the best place to play 3x3 basketball on a weekday.
3PT 3x3 is the UK’s first local league, giving players a new way to experience grassroots 3x3 in an organised format, played weekly at a single venue. Designed to be social and competitive, the league opens up more opportunities for people to stay active and enjoy the game with friends or colleagues.
“The format is exciting, simple, and gives everyone more time on the ball", says London 3x3 owner, Alice Hamilton. "With a partnership with Powerleague and the support of Basketball England, we’re making 3x3 more accessible than ever before".
The new league tips off with a free launch event in London on Monday 29th September at Blackheath High School (7–9pm), open to men and women of all abilities. Players can try the format, meet the community and see first-hand what the excitement is about before the official league season begins.
With support from Basketball England’s 3x3 team, the thrill of the format is being brought to a consistent local stage for the first time in the UK. 3PT makes it easier than ever to play:
One venue every week: no chasing gyms, no long travel
Small teams: all you need is 4-6 players
Fast and competitive: 10-minute games or first to 21 point
Accessible: open to men and women of all abilities
Weekly: regular, organised 3x3 basketball
The launch comes as 3x3 basketball continues its rapid rise across the UK. Events such as Ball Out have firmly established themselves as fixtures on the national sporting calendar, while international recognition for the sport continues to grow following its inclusion in the Olympic Games.
At the forefront of this momentum is London 3x3 – the UK’s first professional 3x3 team. Currently competing in their debut season on the FIBA 3x3 World Tour, the team is now working to develop the domestic game by creating more opportunities for players at grassroots level.
While the league begins in London in October, plans are already underway to expand to Manchester and more UK locations from January 2026. This move marks the next step in making 3x3 basketball more accessible nationwide, giving players across the country the chance to take part in the sport’s most exciting format.
