London 3x3: Bringing World-Class 3x3 Basketball to the UK

Following Great Britain’s breakthrough performance at the FIBA 3x3 Europe Cup 2024, where the men’s team reached the quarterfinals and defeated powerhouse Latvia, Ashley Hamilton and Alice Hamilton, both accomplished British players have launched London 3x3; the UK’s first professional men’s 3x3 basketball team.

After witnessing the lack of professional 3x3 opportunities in the UK, Ashley and Alice set out to create a team through which British players could compete on the pro 3x3 circuit. Ashley Hamilton, who retired from professional 5-on-5 basketball, made the bold move to pioneer the growth of 3x3 at the professional level in the UK, while Alice brings her extensive background in operations and sport development to the project. 

In January 2025, the founders travelled to Switzerland to meet with international 3x3 stakeholders, resulting in a strategic partnership with Drive 3x3. As part of this collaboration, London 3x3 acquired Drive’s FIBA ranking position, launching the team into the global spotlight as the 10th ranked team in the world.

This partnership is for the 2025 season, with a clear goal in 2026: to build a fully British team, representing homegrown talent on the world stage.

London 3x3 will make its international debut at the FIBA 3x3 World Tour season opener in Utsunomiya, Japan, on April 26-27, competing against the best teams in the world and marking a major milestone for British basketball.
