London 3x3 travel to South America with new-look roster.
London 3x3 arrive at the Brasilia Challenger looking to make a statement, returning to the Brazilian capital after a frustrating trip last season in a campaign heavily disrupted by travel issues. Entering the tournament as the third seed, London sit behind only Antwerp and Barcelona on paper and will be aiming to start strongly in Pool C.
The squad travelling this week features an exciting new combination of players, with Ashley Hamilton and Veron Eze the only two returning from the team’s last outing in Manila three weeks ago. Evan Walshe is also set to make his first appearance of the season for London, having found his rhythm during a standout end to the team’s inaugural campaign on the FIBA 3x3 World Tour.
They are joined by London 3x3 debutant Toto Fagbenle, who will make his first appearance for a professional 3x3 side. Fagbenle has spent the last two seasons competing at the top level of British basketball, representing the Caledonia Gladiators since 2024. More recently, he was also included in Team England’s training camp ahead of the upcoming Commonwealth Games, alongside the rest of London 3x3’s English cohort.
London will first face the winners of Qualifying Draw A, which will be one of Uberlandia, Oldenburg or Santo Domingo. As always, taking on a team from the qualifying draw presents a real challenge, with the opposition already warmed up and able to build rhythm before entering the main draw.
London will then face Swiss side Lausanne in their second Pool C matchup. Lausanne are yet to compete in 2026 but were regulars on the Challenger circuit last season, also making several Masters appearances throughout the 2025 campaign. Having retained a number of key players, they are likely to provide a tough test, meaning London will need to settle quickly with their new-look roster.
Elsewhere in the draw, Princeton enter as the fifth seed, with former London 3x3 player Ryan Langborg returning to his alma mater.
The competition tips off today, May 27, with London’s first game scheduled for 19:55 BST, followed by a 21:45 BST matchup against Lausanne. Tune in live on the FIBA 3x3 YouTube channel to catch the team in action.
